Pokémon Go 'A Shockingly Good Time' event guide
Summary
Our Pokémon Go guide lists the perks for the "A Shockingly Good Time" event and explains how to find a Mimikyu.
Pokémon Go’s "A Shockingly Good Time" event runs from March 31 until April 6 and it features electric-type Pokémon and the debut of Mimikyu.
Like other recent events, "A Shockingly Good Time" has a specialized Go Pass where you can earn points by winning raids, catching Pokémon, and hatching eggs. After you reach certain tiers, you'll get specific bonuses in addition to the usual rewards like Pokémon encounters and candy. At rank 10, you'll unlock doubled Incense duration. At rank 20, you'll get doubled catch candy. If you buy the deluxe pass for $4.99, you'll also get double catch Stardust at rank 20.
Below we list the various perks of the Pokémon Go "A Shockingly Good Time" event, as well as explain how to get Mimikyu in Pokémon Go.
How to find Mimikyu in Pokémon Go
As part of the "A Shockingly Good Time" event, there are a few ways to catch Mimikyu:
- Reach rank 30 and 60 in the event Go Pass. You'll get a Mimikyu encounter at these ranks, even if you don't pay for the deluxe pass.
- Players in New Zealand have pointed out that Mimikyu appears to be spawning in the wild on April 1, perhaps as part of an April Fools' Day prank. (After all, Mimikyu isn't even electric-type. It's ghost- and fairy-type!)
That being said, just keep your eyes out for Mimikyu on April 1 to try to nab as many as you want.

Mimikyu has a battle-only form referred to as its "Busted Form." After it tanks a charged attack, its disguise will break. That attack will do no damage to Mimikyu, but its defense will be lowered for the rest of the battle.
Mimikyu is not available to catch shiny yet.
